Newbie To MFK, proud dad to 20 White sturgeon 5 ft to almost 8 feet long.

Hi my name is James Klass,
I am currently the owner of 20 large, 18 to 24 year old White Sturgeon, ranging from 5 feet and 90lbs long to just under 8 feet and approx 300 lbs. . . I will hopefully be successful this spring in breeding them. i currently keep them in a 9 foot deep farm pond with spring water most of the year, during the summer i run a roots type blower at 40CFM to add pond circulation and aeration. their water temperature during the winter is as low as 38 degrees and during the summer reached 76 degrees. I have been amazed at how low maintenance Sturgeon are and how adaptive they seem to be in just about any environment.

Okay, here ya go, not the best pics i have but my computer is down so i had to upload them to my wifes computer from my FB. I have 2 fish that are larger but didnt get them in these pics. i'm the one in the water, my friend is stretched out with my third largest fish at approx 7'2" to 7'3" and pushing probably 230 to 250 lbs.

sorry, i forgot, the fish on the bottom is a female sturgeon from a Snake River breeding years ago. she is approx 7' also. it is not advisable to leave the sturgeon that large out of the water too long as it puts pressure on their vitals that isnt good for them so we had the one fish back in the water after about a minute. Although i have been told they can survive hours out of the water on the bank i'd rather not lose a fish by trying to test that theory.
 
Those fish are amazing! What do you feed those beasts?

Thanks! i feed them a specialized 10mm sinking pellet feed, one made by Rangen, and another company Silvercup. Rangen is based in Idaho and i think Silvercup is in Utah. The 20 fish i have go through about 100 lbs to 150 lbs a month in feed. It doesnt seem like alot for almost 3k lbs of sturgeon but they have been getting quite fat on what i have been giving them.
