love the idea of an inflatable pool as a pond, i'd love to do this but it's way too cold here to do it outside and my basement is no where near big enough. maybe i'll get lucky and find a place with a bigger basement once i move since my lease is up in april. any updates? sorry to hear about your aro :(

Thanks

Stinks about the aro, makes me nervous about adding one when I do my pond.

How are the other fish and temps looking with the recent cold?

Thank you. Everyone else is fine. The water temp dipped below 60 a couple of mornings but everyone just huddled together or clustered around the heater.

No problems with the PACU's nibbling the liner??

Had 2 pacus until the cold spell in January. 30's in South FLorida. Heater quit working in the middle of the night. Woke up and Found both Pacus and Oscar floating upside down. Pleco was alive. Ironic part the heater for the goldfish/mollie pond worked well. Looked like a fishie convention. They were all semi circle around the heater like it was giving a speech.

The pool was about 60 bucks. The rest depends on stocking and how ingenious you are.

No new pics but an update. Went out to feed and the water was a little cloudy. Also notice something floating. Pull out about an eight inch chunk of fish without enough detail to make an accurate id. Start searching and discover that the goldline knife is th one missing. Looked like someone started from each end and worked down to a middle section. Considering the piranha like action during feeding time, I blame the pacu. Time to start the new pond.

Nice pond. I just finished cementing my out door pond(will post pics shorly) and can't wait to put some cichlids in there. How do the fish do in the winter?

With a small heater and a tarp thery did fine. Water never really got below 60.

Hey I am definitely in the ghetto pond league, if there was actually such a thing, since of course there are no leagues. But if there was, I would be all over it :)

I have two 4x8 foot make-shift ponds in my dog run now. They are filled beyond maximum with all my pond plants while the cement pond gets a major refurbishing. I will snap some photos after work. Basically just 2x6's and black plastic. All surplus stuff scavenged from the barn.

The local koi show used to use those kiddie pools.

I really liked your look, with the shelf and bucket filter/falls. We, the league you know, should do midnight raids and set one of those up at every pond-snob's home. Just before they are having company over (like the local pond club). :naughty:
