I had the articles, but the breeder do not have any regular JD or BJD for some reason.

What if, say I replace the EBJD with Electric Blue Acara? How many Acaras I can keep in my tank and how difficult is their care?

I have never owned the Electric Blue Acaras myself but I have seen them time and time again in community setups and hear they are kinda easy to breed as well as pretty.

Electric blue acara's are the more peaceful cichlids. You could keep a maybe a group of 3-5 of them in a 120 with your barbs. check dws darius's channel on youtube. He has a nice community tank with an EBA.
