Mnay use it when referring to chameleons; Old World chams are the "true" chameleons like Jackson's, Veileds, etc and the New World ones are anoles.

Well there's American ratsnakes (blacks, yellows) but if you've had corns, well a corn is a red ratsnake so... The pine-gopher-bullsnake group is a good one, I know you've got the albino cal king, if you like albinos you could go with an albino gophersnake. They're pretty active and tend to have a decent disposition, and they get bigger than the king & hognose without being as huge as a cribo.
Of course if you wanted to go with a boid there's lots of choices...Hogg Island boas are pretty nice and don't get as huge as the other boa constrictors.
Speaking of cribo my dream snake is probably an indigo snake...of course that puts me in the same boat as the asian arowana folks here in the US
Yeah I had thought of bullsnakes before, now suggestions are being made, theres sooo many! I do like the idea of a ratsnake maybe a black though, and definately want my boa. I'm not as up on the types of boa contrictors, as I always had my heart set on the humble common lol. I think if I did get a boa it would be the common tbh. Why, how much do indigo's go for? Jess whats your budget? There are some beautiful animals out there it just depends on the budget. Mandarin Rat Snakes in my opinion are beautiful and have decent personalities too. Brazilian Rainbow Boas are great too and they dont push the 10 foot mark at all youre looking more at 5 1/2 to 6. The various vine snakes are cool too in that you can set them up arboreally and could make a nice showpiece.
I think usually, I aim to spend no more than £200 for a snake, (at the moment) except when I really want something I have my mind set on to be honest. I think honestly I'm looking at no more than £120 this time, all this buying is leaving me skint!
Plus I don't have set ups ready so will have to buy. I will only being babies (cb) late 06 /07 so should help! One thing I am not that keen on is rainbow boa's. I have no idea why, they just never appealed to me!
I agree why not just get the boa? I went from corns to boas, once you have them set up correctly it's easy. I was 13 when I got my first boa, and he is still going strong

grinno: ), I'm not too worried about setting them up, I've wanted one since i was 13 myself, and have read, read, read and read even more about them, so just a quick few checks and I should be ok. I'm not worried with handling neither, I was pretty ok with my bro's larg/ish (lol) burm when I was younger, and it seeing as it will grow from a baby, handling just isn't my worry.
Thinking of getting the boa next, then maybe the Black Rat, or the mexican rosy boa! Lol. Thanks for posting and putting ya input in guys, keep it coming please if you have any other ideas. I decided against the soft shell turtle btw. They get to big for the average none-turtle specialist lol.
