You are entitled to like the fish you want but I have found firemouths rather boring. They're pussies (may get beat up by Jr) and aren't very spectacular looking. If it were my tank I would do: 1 male jd (for sure), one Oscar, a convict breeding pair (boosts aggression and movement in tank plus free feeders that are disease free and they don't get very big), 1 common pleco (helps control algae), salvini, and maybe a male gt.
