Hello; Well I did not watch the SB and all was fine. First time in decades to have missed that game. I also see that the controversy continues. Seems some of the Eagles players are going to stay away from the White House.
Here is a link to the article I just read.

I especially noted the paragraph where a player said the kneeling, and I guess fist raising, was not an anthem protest just a protest that took place during the anthem. What an interesting twist. To me if it was not about the anthem then why were knees not taken during other on camera moments? Say when their team made a touchdown? I know this is a poor example but should illustrate my point if nothing else.

These protests were dying down. Not many were doing it. When trump stated these s.o.b's should stand it ignited it.

Hello; Yes dying down some but no where near stopped. President Trump stated what many of us were already thinking. While the s.o.b. language was jumped on a lot and the same sentiment could have been expressed without it, it got the point across.

I guess so. Im a "trumper" but feel like there are other issues he should be concentrating on. No matter how we cut it they were protesting his words.

All wrong in the end hopefully this is behind us.

Does not bother me that some sheagles dont want to go to the white house. Its their right to choose. I would have applauded anyone for refusing to visit oshama.

Hello; While watching TV last night a scroll of news was at the bottom. It stated that viewership of the SB was down this year I think around 7% or so. It also said that viewership for the NFL season is down close to 9% to 10% for this season. Also that viewership last season was down around 8%. That's down nearly 18% for the last two seasons.
I will not be so bold as to lay this all on the flag ceremony protests but figure the protests has some effect.

NFL passed a policy today that all players must stand or be fined. I guess they didn't read their old policy.

Hello; The talking heads are discussing it as I write this. What I see so far is weak. Near as I can tell so far the players are not fined or punished directly. The "team owners" will get the fine and not the individual players as it is being described so far.

I also gather the players may be able to stay in the locker room and skip the anthem.

There seems to be a very vague set of possible punishment for offenders as well. If these weak approaches are the "solution" then it is not enough. Sounds like we might still get to see players kneeling, raising a fist or sitting on the bench in spite of the new "rules". As you say they already had the rules written and in place before and did not chose to enforce them by falling back on language such as "may".

I will check your link to see what is there but so far not enough to get me back to watching the games. Apparently the NFL lost around 8% of viewers such as myself last year. I lived without them just fine. Who needs to watch a game where players disrespect the flag of the country they live in.

If true that is really lame...to fine the team owners rather than the players.
