NGT

so i starved my community tank and tried to get everyone on pellets, i caved in after 2 weeks. LOL

the NGT is still not taking pellets or MP. So he hasn't eaten for about 4 weeks. not sure if i should feed him what he likes now. he's still fat and haven't lost too much weight so what would you guys do?

I wanted a NGT bad about 12 years ago and not many forums about at that time so no info was about on NGT

All I remember is they were the most expensive real.nice ST were selling for £25 each for 2inch and the same size NGT was £110 as they were so rare I got 2 that was my first mistake they nearly killed each other so I just kept the one
He done fine for about 2 years but then one day he turned and beat up all 7 ST

I kept it for another 4 years moving it to any one who could look after it as it was rare and nice

I then sold it and never had a NGT for years I then got a cheap 10inch one cheap I put it in the tank and let it do it's own thing for 2 years

But to tell the truth NGT don't interest me any more it's a fish you want bad but when you get one you find other tigers have a better personally

As for feeding NGT love blood worm mine used to take whole cubes of frozen blood worm from my hands

i gave up the last time after two weeks... i tried again and currently moving on 4 weeks and have yet to serve anything else besides pellets... no luck at all and none are biting... i will feed shrimps again this weekend

i say feed it reg food that it eats first. let it be healthy & let it settle in first.. then starve it still it takes it

To tell the truth I have had more luck feeding pellets the day they go in the tank

If you give them feeders or shrimp from day one they think that's what's on offer so hold out hoping to get the feeders or shrimp again

EAT OR DIE THAT'S THE RULES IN MY TANK NO MATTER HOW MUCH THE FISH COSTS

I have not lost a fish from starvation yet it's not the fish that's hard to brake its the owner

by fair a huge lesson most keepers of all animals should learn, stubborn is far from starving ya self to death... And every creature has survival instinct until its weak and dying. If its healthy most things wont starve out of choice!

What was the longest you starved any of your fishes? You're right regarding breaking an owner, however, if one spends a fortune on the fish... it's quite difficult to swallow losing a fish that expensive.

NEVER! and had a aro go well into 8-10week zone before starting again... my ngt went 2 months on multiple occasions...
