Wow, really nice ?
Not sure if it’s the lighting, but are more blue than CB ones I’ve had/seen. And from Costa Rica. Wondering if they are “blue” and “green” like you see in some thorichthys species. Or are the “green” just a result of many years of captive breeding. Anyway I’ve always seen nics w/ more blue in them posted as “Costa Rican nics” without any location disclosed.
Edit: is it just aquarium lighting making them look green or blue?
I am unsure if they are originally from Max Cichlids, they were imported to Aus listed as F1 Río San Juan, CR.
In the pictures they were house with a group of Vieja melanura ‘Belize’ and a trio of Parachromis multifasciatus in a 240G tank. Currently the pair is alone in a tank, they will join my group of Tomocichla tuba in a 320G aquarium in the near future.
