that 2.5gallon is good for 2-3weeks:) i have a 4.5 and a 10 or something like that and they just move along when the get bigger.
i would get the 2.5 set up with the same water as the fry and seed the filter. then sipon the fry through a net and then put them in the 2.5. thats the way i do it and i have had no deaths, counted 31 about 5weeks ago and still 31:)
iam getting a 35g for grow out now when i move my fish around.
also get hatching or buying baby brine shrimp:)

I have the tank setup, and I have other tanks to move them to when they get bigger. I also have Hikari First bites and Wardley liquid fry food for them.

More pics. Proud Parents.

Added a fake plant for some cover, they seem to be getting the idea.

sounds good, iam picking up one on friday, it looks to be male its the biggest, best colour and most aggressive in the group so hopefully its a male:) males are nicer than females nics right?
good luck raising the fry and get some baby brine shrimp on the go, i cba hatching them and its proberly cheaper to buy in mass frozen thats what i do, you can raise the fry without it but i think its better but i use the same food you said before

I added some liquid fry food last night, and they were going after the particles. I will keep on that regimen and then go to Hikari First Bites.

Noticed this today. The male collects pellets, and brings them back to the nest and eats them. When he does, he seems to grind them up and vent the dust out his gills. Is he feeding the fry? Or is he just messy like an oscar? The fry are feeding off it.

to your question, abit off both haha. i picked up two insted of 1, turned out to be male and female:)didnt even try to sex them just pointed at the most colourfull and biggest. they have been pre spawning for about a week now and it looks like they about to lay within the next 4 days
