While you get a higher count of european nightcrawlers than canadian nightcrawlers for the same price. They are a lot more expensive when you look at the amount of pounds that you get. $37 for 5lbs of canadian compared to over $90 for 5lbs of europeans.

passport and immigration fees probably
:)

I just posted those 2 links of what I was able to find through google in about 5 seconds.
There are also many other sources.
( btw compare those prices with pellet food :) )

im currently looking for a better source also

im getting about 1000 worms for 100 bucks shipped. i hate to change suppliers though since they are always fat and healthy. maybe i will just try to talk them down a little....

I emailed the Canadian nightcrawler suppliers mentioned on this thread, and a few others, best response I got was from rainbowworms.com who assured me that his worms are chemical free and that he sells them to people as pet food as well as as bait.

I got the first shipment of 500 in Wednesday, expecting another 500 today. The worms are fat and healthy, atleast until my rays get ahold of them.

I ordered 2 lbs of european nightcrawlers, the fish seems to like it (Not really sure what DON'T they like) from earthworms4sale for $ 50 shipped.

How much did you pay for shipping for 500 canadian crawlers ?

I believe these are actually the same place. I ordered a large batch from Uncle Jim's who assured me they would "Arrive Alive" and guaranteed it! I let them know it was February in Minnesota and temps could be around 0 F and was rest assured everything would be fine. I received a Frozen block of worms that turned into mush. When I repeatedly questioned them on their policy- I did not even receive the courtesy of a response.

Hence I ordered from the second place -only to find out after the card was rang it comes up as "Uncle Jim's earthworm Farm". Luckily batch # 2 was alive but I still will not order from them again due to their lack of customer service.

It is good to hear that Vamptrev has a new source. I will consider them for future orders.
