Nile perch???

I'm ordering a Nile perch next week and was wondering what I should expect in growth and feeding. I can't find anything about them online. So figured I would ask here.
Anyone have one? Had one? What was your experience?

Buy as big of a grow out tank that you can find. Mine I kept in a 240 gallon since it was 4 inches and grew over a foot in one year. Out of all the aquarium fish I have kept only and arapaima grew and ate more. What size tank have you got planned for your Nile Perch?

prepare!!! i would get a 210gal and then a 1200 pond.. with only that fish in it!

My grow out is a 180 and my biggest tank right now is 300. I'm ordering a acrylic 600 gal in April after we get moved into our new house. He is 3in right now. Do they take well to frozen food??

Mine ate pretty much everything. Frozen prawns and feeders mostly. I never tried carnivore pellets however it would not surprise me if they did. Mine were OK with fish they could not swallow not like a baby arapaima that made a meal out of all its tankmates.

Any pics? N how big do they usually get in captivity? N at what size do they slow down in growth?

Your talking Arapaima size tanks for adults. Here's a picture of an adult plus more info.

If you want to keep them in captivity for any long period of time I recommend a tank that is at least 3 foot wide with good flows. The adults reach over 400 pounds.
