Nitrate absorbing floating plants

Yeah frogbit looks awesome. I did some reading and it says moderate to high lighting, full spectrum, so I don't think it would flourish under normal lighting

Wailua Boy Wailua Boy how are you using the frogbit and Salvinia any special requirements?

Think the combo of a emerger like umbrella sedge and a floater like frogbit or water lettuce is good combo. For me frogbit been easy to grow. I've even grown it under cheap fluorescent light with good results just develops more delicate leaf patterns. Outdoors its like to be shaded with filtered light but the plant can develop a huge root system if well feed and will root into gravel/soil. Salvinia seems to want intense light. Heres is some frogbit and water lily in a aquarium in my garage. I can flatrate any of these to you if you cant find them Ive got a pretty big collection.lol

I'm not sure about water lettuce. I do know that I was considering it about 6 months ago when I ended up choosing salvinia instead, and I know I was only considering easy low light plants, so it may work for you

Can that be left floating ?

So maybe some combo of watercress , water lettuce, and umbrella sedge would be cool
