Assuming you're sure of that, I can now bag on the low-waterchange crowd with utter impunity :D
Only if it is skewed to start with but how about just for maintanence?

In what way? I believe that small fequent water changes are the best because they keep the water chem more stable. :grinyes:
who says water changes make the water unstable? Unless your water only has a sliver of alkalinity, it should be very stable.

Of cours e a python sort of gets rid of the hassle of that damn siphon and buckets.

So you think that if you are changing 50% of the water a week dosen't change the perameters of the water a lot more then changing.... say 10% a day?

I will agree that I shouldn't have said "water chem" I should have said "water perameters"

That first paragraph sounds confrontational.... don't mean it to.

 Did a test and found nitrite at 10ppm, and nitrate at 160ppm.
Did a quick water change of about 30%, will it be enough. :help2:

To get back on track my man, my guess is WAY over feeding. What size tank, type of fish etc.?

Again, also too much light. 160ppm of Nitrates is pretty damn high bro. I hit 80 ppm recently and did a 20 gal change on a 100 gal tank and that helped.

We need some more info on your setup.

compare your tapwater with your week-old tankwater and find for yourself...

personally for me they are identical, or at least visibly identical.

My thought is the wast in the water....... and the fish use minerals out of the water. Look at your water agaist a white paper.... it will be at least a little discolored.

I had that problem and my tank water turned green, I cut back on my feedings and did 25% daily for a week then left if to do it's thing. The python does really help.

I'm not seeing your point here; how does doing small waterchanges prevail over large waterchanges, in regard to minerals?
