So I have seen no improvement in the tail as of yet. I snapped a new picture of it and it looks as though skin is hanging off with some sand attatched to it? idk, maybe it's trying to heal? She still hasn't eat either, 2 weeks and counting.
Here's the picture of the tail:

make sure you are cleaning the sand and keep up on large water changes,.... its tail rot, that part of the tail will fall off ...

Did you try salt over the tail? Not too heavy you don,t want the salt to pile on the disk. As for feeding I found with my ray he would only and still only eats bloodworms. I soak them in water then use a turkey baster to suck them up then place under his disk at the nose? then gently squeeze. He quickly learned to climb on the end of baster to eat. If the tank wasn't so deep I would hold it in my hand I trust him that much.

Yes, I did try disolved salt over the tail area. I've been doing more frequent water changes and had the temperature bumped up to 85-86 but I lowered it to around 82F. I did a 40% water change today. Should I be adding salt during every water change?

u should get a hydrometer if u cant keep track of the amount of salt ur putting in. r u conditioning the water as u do waterchanges?

r u testing ur water? there is a reason why ur ray isnt eating, we just have to narrow it down to figure out whats wrong...

few xtra water changes and some salt and give it a little more than 5 days.... water change every day.... please read kiss thread... dissolve 3lbs per 100 gallons and do daily water changes...

Well, last time I used the 16oz. bottles so it wasn't too hard to gauge how much I was adding. Yes, I am conditioning the water as I do water changes. I guess I'll have to up the water changes again and start doing them daily....:nilly:

Everytime I do a waterchange the same amount of salt should be added again correct?
