yeah...i have 12 tanks that i had to take care of and a bearded dragon i took my discus, oscar and bearded dragon to a friend that has a generater thats how i saved those fish we had warm water also and the first 3 days i didnt sleep every 2 hours i would stir tanks so the bacteria wouldnt die and put in steeming hot water in milk jugs and let them float in the tanks after that they started to die and i asked my parents if we could get a generator but they pretty much ignorded me......but i'll have fun re-stocking my tanks
2 months ago the Seattle area had over 1 million without power. Luckily my natives didn't need heat so they were fine, but I had to wrap my cichlid tank in blankets and that held the heat in.....GREAT in 3 days only lost about 12 degrees where my other tank(fry tank) which I did not wrap lost almost 30 degrees . Luckily I lost only one catfish and about 6 fry.
On day three I managed to borrow a generator from my parents who's power came back on and reheated the tank.
I'm going saltwater so a generator is a must to buy this summer in prep for next winter.
