I'm sorry to hear that. Living in New England, I'm always worring that I'm going to lose something durring the winter.

yeah...i have 12 tanks that i had to take care of and a bearded dragon i took my discus, oscar and bearded dragon to a friend that has a generater thats how i saved those fish we had warm water also and the first 3 days i didnt sleep every 2 hours i would stir tanks so the bacteria wouldnt die and put in steeming hot water in milk jugs and let them float in the tanks after that they started to die:( and i asked my parents if we could get a generator but they pretty much ignorded me......but i'll have fun re-stocking my tanks:)

How long where you guys out for? Thats crazy, I thought just shy of a day and a half was bad.........

Man that sucks.

2 months ago the Seattle area had over 1 million without power. Luckily my natives didn't need heat so they were fine, but I had to wrap my cichlid tank in blankets and that held the heat in.....GREAT in 3 days only lost about 12 degrees where my other tank(fry tank) which I did not wrap lost almost 30 degrees . Luckily I lost only one catfish and about 6 fry.

On day three I managed to borrow a generator from my parents who's power came back on and reheated the tank.

I'm going saltwater so a generator is a must to buy this summer in prep for next winter.

Sorry for your losses.
