No Traffic In The Ray Section? Whats The Deal?

MFK drama like if its not my way then its wrong or mines bigger than yours attitudes, life, work, family. I will always have setups and new fish. Will never get rid of my rays just dont feel the urge to post much any more. I do visit occasionally.

I've learned so much by reading all the post here, all the wasteful bickering is quite humorous . After a while , the people that learn enough just don't need help anymore , and keep to themselves . Is it necessary to post monthly photos? For some I guess ? It does make me roll my eyes when you see these rays and here what people are paying for them

Me personally haven't had the time to get on. I'm finally getting into the house I have been trying to finish for the past 1.5 years so that has been a big deal so right now my time is dedicated to that. Hell I still have pups for sale I haven't had the time to update or keep up with a fs thread. And no extra cash to watch the buy threads. I still lurk from time to time.

I also started out with stupid threads because I was very new to the forum and mfk was my first forum I ever started following. So forums and rays were both new to me. I'm guilty of flaming from time to time like all of us but new guys have to start sometime. I have yet to see a new successful ray keeper since I have been here not start out with a noob question.

There is a difference between a long time mfker asking things that should be searched to a brand new member. One should know to search the other might not know the forum rules just yet. Be careful the ones you flame might just be the ones that will get you the interesting topics later down the road.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Steve, if your happy with them then that's all that matters, you would be surprised just how many members on here would like to see your Motoro group (me included)..don't hide them away, lets all see them!

That is normally what ugly people say....in this case I agree. All rays are cool and I too like to see everyone's collection. From Retic to tiger from p14 to some mutt hybrid all are sweet.

Simply put....... Fire is gone.

Sick of trying to raise them right and having no idea what I'm doing wrong. Sick of unanswered questions. Sick of arguing with knit picking people that seem to get off on being right due to technicalities. Burnt out from all the hard work, money, time lost, and not a friggin thing to show for it. IF there was a cashing out option this guy would do it......

Did I mention sick and tired of the process of being screwed over just trying to obtain them or buy in to the "cliques" that get the nice ones that are all sold long before any of us see them......

Only excitement I've had from this hobby this year has been a new Dorado that will hopefully answer the question I've been asking for years - Why aren't they turning gold? And that's not for this forum.

I've been enjoying my toothy fish a lot more lately then the flat fish...... They don't make you feel like a failure when they don't breed, they grow and you almost feel like you're doing something right....

You couldn't even get a moving bed filter to work, yet still were narrow minded enough to sit here and argue with those of us that love them.

The UV thing was also quite comical. I did learn a lot from it. Not from you, as your opinions did nothing but drive me to seek out REAL answers from an engineer instead of some grumpy old arrogant hobbyist stuck in his ways of yester decade. The icing on the cake was when you PM'd me your phone number when I "called you on not knowing crap about Kill rate"

i had it working the same way everyone else did in a thread that had 28 pages to come to the same conclusion i did you get big traqffic jams

that is a different case to no traffic on the forum

you do take things to heart dont you

maybe if you didnt keep messing about with your system you would have better luck

as for kill rate who needs to know that if you read instuctions they normally tell you all you need to know

T1- I'm not going to go back and forth with you here as it never ends good, so this will be my last reply to you.

I have 3 traffic jam free reactors running here. The latest runs a smaller air pump then you used. You simply choose to take the easy route and go back to "ol reliable" rather then doing the work, making improvements an redesigning till it's right, then you hide your laziness by calling the moving bed design "rubbish".

We must have been raised different. You're arrogant. I'm not. We hold ourselves to different standards. I'm learning. You're an expert already. I say my stuff doesn't work, cause it doesn't work as well as I'd like it to..... yet. You say yours works cause your small group of rays in a giant tank works fine. IF I had your system, I'd call it rubbish and rebuild it, cause I don't believe in tried in true, I believe in improvement, evolution, learning better ways through mistakes. Something narrow minded individuals find impossible, cause the first step is actually admitting you're wrong. Easy for people like me. Difficult if not impossible for the arrogant. IF you had my system you'd add a bunch of dinky lil daisy chained UVs and call it "working" despite UV kill rate programs proving that this is rubbish.

For 5+ years now I've listened to advice from people like you - water doesn't matter. run what comes out of your tap.... Ever thought this could be bad advice? I've always thought it was poor advice, but who am I to argue? I'm no expert, I'm here to learn from the experts. Problem is after all this time I'm having a hard time keeping my mouth shut about all the crap advice that's been regurgitated all over this forum year after year. Hell I might go so far as to say that MAYBE the reason people "move on" is cause they figure out that it's the blind leading the blind right out of the hobby..... BUT this annoyance doesn't trump the love many of us have for flat fish, which is why so many of us continue to stay here despite people like you that have nothing better to do then toot your own arrogant horn and argue with people cause your too lazy to go improve something. I bet if you spent half the time on a reactor as you do rubbing people the wrong way maybe you could find a way around that traffic jam in the reactor.

That traffic jam of an attitude of yours might not be so easy to fix though........

Is it just me or does anyone else miss the likes of people like Nic and Miles???
