I'd suggest maybe removing some of the caves while still leaving some spots for them to hide. Like leaving plants and driftwood in but taking rock caves out. They'll still be visible but feel hidden.

Reality is, all plecos prefer to hide. There's a saying-- "a hiding pleco is a happy pleco." The best you can hope for is, with time, one that begs for food when it's feeding time.

One thing you can do is throw in some zuichini or cucumber. I used to feed that every day so I could watch them all the time (probaly doesn't work with every pleco cause they don't all like fruits). If you think plecos create a lot of waste, watch them when you feed zuichini everyday, the amount of poo in my tank wasn't even funny anymore.![]()
