Wow, ya'll really know your fish. I've been surfing the 'net checking out your suggestions--it's gonna be difficult making decisions!! Got plenty of time, tho. 'Nother question (sorry, I'm a data dog): where do most of you find your fish? My lfs is pretty limited--no discus, no rams, a few cichlids and a huge oscar (he's in solitary confinement lol) but nothing like Malawis, etc. Mail order seems kind of risky for the fish? Thanks again. R

lol I personally will drive a good hour or more to get a fish I really want and find an excuse to stay out that way for the day. =) I have alot of lfs around here though. I know one thing you can do is if you go to yahoo.com and then go to local (its right under the big red yahoo! sign and icons) then click on it. Then you type in aquariums or fish shops, pet shops etc. in the first search box then in the second one you type your city and state or zipcode then click search it should give you a list on whats in your area along with phone numbers adress and driving direction options I use that alot when looking for lfs. It work good for me here. I advise you call them before you head out though becaue I ran into a few that went out of business. Hope that Helps. I never order fish from the internet before so I dont know much about that.

Thanks, Ash and others, that's great advice! I really appreciate it!!! Ya'll ROCK. There are a couple of big cities that would make a good 1/2 day trip from out here in the country lol. Just noticed you're in FLA--so's my mom, i could always make a road trip to visit and check out lfs's in sarasota. There might be fish there lol. Yeah, I'm kinda skeptical about mailorder fish, but there seem to be alot of them! I'm falling in love with these big, colorful, dynamic fishies--but some get so HUGE! :WHOA:
More research. . . :) r

Yah I love the colors of the cichlids! Yah sarasota has alot of good stock in fish, or at least that is what I heard, I do know between sarasota and tampa there are a good amount of fish places my friend used to sell bettas to alot of them lol.

You can be like me and just drive around aimlessly looking for any random LFS. :P But i've had decent sucess just looking in the phone book. Else - i think magazines such as TFH have a section in the back with some LFS listings. (I dont think its a big list - but maybe worth a look.)

What about Kribs, I have a male and female in with some angels and a few blue rams, they all seem to get along. Kribs breed like crazy too, that is all they seem to do.
