Hello everyone,
I'm really new to the hobby and had some ideas to put in my 80gal bowed tank. It is running a Rena XP4 Filter, using a spray bar, and a heater rated for my tank size with an extra Koralia 2 (flow rate 600gph). I'm not trying to start a brand war. I'm just informing you guys what I have..
I'm not all that good with the scientific names and am still researching tons..but I was thinking of going with pairs.

2-Red devils are about 2 inches or less

2-Black Convicts (hopefully same sex)-About 2 inches (>)

2-Green Terrors -About 2 inches but are not as filled out as listed above. They are about 25% slimmer.

1-Black Tiger Oscar - Almost identical to GT's

My Questions are:
-Would an 80gal house these little guys till i get a bigger tank down the road??
-If possible any suggestions of the size of tank??
-Is it a good idea to raise in pairs, a certain number or in singles?

I do have a lot more questions but I"ll do more research. If you guys know any good informative sites(that lists temps. different types. etc.), that would be great!:headbang2
All advice and support would be very much appreciated and like I had mentioned, I'm still new! So all the help that you could possibly give is very much needed.
Thanks J.:nilly:

sound like ur ok. red devils might be a bit agressive and im not sure the oscar mixes well. welcome to mfk, you'll find lots who can help u;) welcome to the hobby too, its addicting but worth every bit

get rid of the devils and the stocklist is fine...if the color is what you're looking for, then replace with red bay snooks, but then the cons would be vulnerable to being eaten

if you end up getting a bigger tank i would suggest getting singles not pairs to make a ca community pairs just torment eachother

Thanks for the Advice! please keep you knowledge coming :) anyone ideas on a good tank size for cichild community??

I wouldn't go with pairs either, that really ups the aggression when you've got pairs. And while Oscars are hands down my favorite fish, I'd leave him out, too. Those other fish would beat the fins off of him. Oscars are pretty passive and easy-going compared to those other Cichlids you named.

125 would be able to do about 4 maybe 5 cichlids if the red devil was the most aggro one you decided to put in there like a red devil, gt, jack dempsey, texas or something of the like.

lose the red devils and oscar and your stock will be alright.

And what is this tiger oscar that looks identical to a green terror!? Makes no sense, get some shots up so we can confirm your fish are what you think they are.
