lose the red devils and oscar and your stock will be alright.

And what is this tiger oscar that looks identical to a green terror!? Makes no sense, get some shots up so we can confirm your fish are what you think they are.

i think he means size of them

the tiger oscars look like tiger oscars but their size is almost identical to the green terror's size...hopefully that makes more sense to ya! they dont physically look identical it's just the size I'm talking about ..sorry for the confusion

You want to put all those fish together? If so then you are going to need a huge tank!!!!!!! For the 80 gallon bow fron I would go with 1 Oscar, 1 Convict and 3 silver dollars. You have 4 fish on that list that will reach sizes larger than 12 inches. I would also be really careful with the Red Devils. In any case I have seen they have been so aggressive that they hade to be housed alone.

In an 80 bow I would go with a choclate cichlid green severum and Geophagus brasilensis and a large red tail shark and a few large rainbow fish. I had this combo and it worked out great. The devils you are talking about are way to agressive and do better as single specimens.

I was at the LFS over the weekend and he had what I believe are oscars (bit pale and some red) and those were extremely aggressive. Is that due to the type/breed or is it that there were so many of them at the shop?

Have been reading up on them and have been interested in mixing them with my JD's... but when the guy showed me how aggressive they were I started to think twice...

On the Cichlid aggression scale of 1-10 I think Oscar's rate about......4-5. The reason I say that is when put up against actual aggressive fish such as Green Terrors, Jack Demseys, Midas, Flowerhorn, Jaguars & Convicts the Oscars will usually lose every time. Unless you introduced one of those other fish as a juvie and the Oscar was already full grown. Now with other Oscars & other fish that will allow themselves to be pushed around (key words), then yes-Oscars may 'seem' aggressive. They're territorial and they'll bully another fish if given the chance but as far as "real" aggression? Not so much. I know people keep JD's and Oscar's together, I think it's a roll of the dice. I've got an Oscar with a Green Terror but the Green Terror is FAST & was a juvie when introduced. My other 4 Oscars have another Oscar as their tankmate and get along wonderful. But getting 2 Oscars to get along is a roll of the dice in itself. I can't remember what size your tank is, but keep in mind Oscars get 12"-15" long and they're very bulky/thick fish. An Oscar needs a minimum of 75 gal bio-load wise and territorial-wise. Some people claim a 55 g minimum but my opinion is that's just not big enough for such a long bulky fish.
These are my thoughts and opinions and I'm not going to argue or defend them-sorry :). I've got 5 super healthy active Oscars though and that's good enough for me.

Thanks for that :)

Just was strange because the shop I was at the guy pulled open the tank lid and they all came up and started to bite his fingers. I had read up alot on Oscars and thought basically what you had said so I was a bit surprised.

I have two JD's at the moment both about 2inches. So, want to get other cichlids that can hold up against them but they are my loves so don't want them to get eaten either.

New tank I'm getting tomorrow is about 75g. so figure they should be alright I think.
