Normal ray behavior

Pacus and oscars don't go in the 320 gallon forever. They will go to a pond when they outgrow. A hobby doesn't have a age limit. You do it as a passion. Even if i study i need to get my dad to do it. I can't sell it back as the guy had the ray in a 30 gallon tank and does a 10 percent water change every month. I know he will die soon. I never said it is okay that i am just a kid. I am saying i have no power over money. I can do water changes, do the feeding, and try to take care of them. When i researched i find that rays can go with any aros even Jardinis and their aggression. They are doing fine now and please no more criticism.

If you can't handle criticism then don't post on an online public forum. So when the Pacu and Oscar are too big for you to maintain you're releasing them into the wild? No hobby has an age limit but a person with common sense would think "hey I'm real interested in fishkeeping and like the large fish that require 500g+ setups, oh but wait I don't have a job or any money so maybe I should consider not jumping into this hobby right now and waiting till I'm financially stable to handle it" There in lacks the problem. Most kids don't use common sense hense they shouldn't take on hobbies that require a constant source of income. Of course kids don't think like this so I really think that's when a parent should say "uhm no" just like they would if there kid wants to get a dog or a cat, or any other pet for that matter. Of course I'm sure the thought of "maybe I shouldn't be trying to take on a hobby that requires a constant source of income when I have no income" never crosses your mind because "just keeping big fish is cool and Mom and Dad will give me money if I get stuck in a tight spot and need it."

I am interested in a lot of bigger species too that I'd like to keep but I stick to the species I can properly house and that I can afford on my income and research how to properly take care of them FIRST like any reasonable person would do.

The pond isn't in the wild. and you would be surprised on how many kids can have common sense. Maybe i don't have it but maybe i do it is a opinion to everyone. I know the requirments for pacus and oscars. It is more like keeping the tank running instead of having it sitting in a garage or up and running with nothing in it.

Oh, doesn't surprise me that some do. I've seen some younger kids on this site that actually have some very good fish keeping abilities and nice tank setups and some really nice specimens. If you do have any common sense, you're failing to show it in this case. If you know what a pacu needs for tank size then you wouldn't have throw them in a 320g in the first place. Yes, that makes sense, It's better to have a 320g setup and throw pacu and oscar in there with two 70g max rated hobs under filtrating it than wait till you have the proper hardware to set it up. There's your common sense chiming in again.

Your name most certainly says it all. *sigh* I've already explained to you (as others have as well) that you're practically doing everything wrong here but explaining this to a kid is like screaming at a wall. Enjoy your brief stint in fish keeping. There is a lot of disaster in your future.

... The 2 filters are going to the 100 gallon tank. There is a sump connected to the 320 gallon.

You said "you got screwed" and Dad wouldn't buy you a pump for the sump so what's pumping your sump? Also, what brand are these 30-70g power filters? I've yet to see one that can handle 30-70. I've seen 30-60 like the regent 30-60 and it's gph isn't even close to able to properly filtrate a 60. It can handle a 30 gallon. So your still under filtrated on a 100g with an arowana and stingray that need a much bigger tank and doing bi weekly wc. I hear stingrays don't need requent wc and proper filtration at all. j/k

ray update. My motoro ray is doing great. 50 percent weekly water change and no issues so far. eating well and growing
