lol about the petland, sounds like you both were in sour moods, and it is a nice store.
yea the clowns are nice (and big lol especially the clown) they have big ones in a lot and they're there a while. sounds like he gave ya a good deal just to get rid of the fish. o and btw sorry to piss ya off, can't help when i gotta go throu my manager before i do anything, and you know as well as i do $5 isn't a reasonable offer for that fish, i would've taken maybe 15-20 but you acted first so then i have to go throu the manager.

You got a PM lol

indeed i did haha, sorry again though, but if you dealt w the people i do be glad i was at least in a good mood

lol no problem man it was one of those things I admit to tring to rip you guys off but I was asked lol.

i don't blame ya, i woulda done the same thing lol. you can usually get some nice deals at fishy too. but anyway back on topic galion does have a nice store and you oughta visit it, he doesn't carry as many monsters for sale but has a much broader selection (especially if you like cichlids) what he does have is some awesome display monsters including a true giant gourami (much bigger than fishys) and an awesome large lungfish. trust me as far as lfs go it's one that's worth a trip.

if you are ever in upper sandusky there's a guy who sells fish out of his hardware store and he usually has a few baby monsters in and decent selection for the small amount of tanks he has

Hey Koop I work at Petsmart. The reason why we have goldfish feeders in pretty much every tank besides the cichlid tanks is because they will eat the snails. I think they come in with the plants(IDK really I'm a stocker) and since all of the freshwater tanks share the same water they just crawl through the holes and just breed like hell. Not saying it's the best idea but it does work. The bad side of it is like you said every tank has a 2.5 inch feeder goldie in it.

Jack's locations are really hit or miss as far as livestock depending on the manager. They have quite a bit of control of what they carry besides your bread and butter tetras and asst. Africans. Also depending on the location, their supply stock might not be that great either, but they can do special orders on a lot of stuff. I can't speak for other stores, but at the location I work at, we are very willing to do special orders (including livestock if we can find a place to get it-if anybody wants a black tip reef shark, I can hook you up ;) ). As far as tanks go, we almost always have everything from 5.5 gallons up to 180 in stock (and can order at least up to a 265) including some special sizes like 37 and 47 columns and bowfronts (some stores also have surflines) and some setups like biocubes. Also, the staff are very hit or miss. At the place I work, the manager really knows his stuff and so do several employees, but even good stores have idiots come through somtimes. Then, there are stores where evryone from the managers on down are idiots...

I really like RMS, and AA in cleveland and parma, also the salty critter in vermillion is really nice for salt. And for a bigger chain store the Pet Supplies Plus in elyria is great!

Can you say which store you work at?

I from what I have seen it's the newer stores that have better stuff. they seem alot more equiped to handle bigger nicer fish.

the jacks stocking depends on the volume of fish they sell.
they more they sell, the more preference they get when the fish are shipped from the warehouse. some stores make more money than others, so the company invests more in them

Speaking of Jacks they opened a new store in Lima a few weeks ago so I will be there friday mornign to check it out. So friday after noon I should have a review for you guys.
