Speaking of Jacks they opened a new store in Lima a few weeks ago so I will be there friday mornign to check it out. So friday after noon I should have a review for you guys.

Wow, I didn't know that. I thought the manager at my store would have said something. I work part-time at the Bellefontaine store btw. I knew they were going to be opening a Lima location, but I didn't know it would be so soon. I thought they were saying spring/summer '09. Maybe I might see about getting a job at the Lima store next school year as it's a lot closer to my school than Bellefontaine

I hate bills. You can still go if you got the gas money and see what they got. I don't have crap for cash this week but I'm heading to jacks just to see the new store.


And as for them not opening for awhile. they put the shop in a building right off of 75. that just got built so I think they had a jump b/c the building is brand new and they didn't have to rearange anything they could have it built to suit.


P.S. I like the bellfountaine store but the only thing that gets me is they have that huge open top tank with tiny @$$ koi in it. and only like 12 a that. why not some monsters.

Yeah it's open. You'll have to excusse me for getting this posted late. I got moved to thrid shift this week and I had to go to the doctor with my G/F to find out what we are having ( A BOY!!!) And then We went to jacks. then had all this other crap to do and whe we got home I fell asleep. lol


Ok so jacks in LIMA. Good plcae has one of the largest floor plans of any jacks I have been into. You can tell that they are VERY new. some tanks are still cloudy and there is Very little salt water fish yet. There largest display tnk is about half of the big open top pond like they have in easton and bellfountaine. and it only has turtle and common plecos. They have some room for tank busters but one ones so far and it looked like an albine sevrum but I did not get a good look it was hiding behind he decor and wouldn't come out. They did however have two florida gars if you are still looking for one justin. And two small pike cichlids mixed in the assorted chiclid tank. there overall equip stock was good about the same as any other newer jacks but they did not have the tank selection that the one in easton has. Thier largest tank was 125. They did have the 90 surfline and a few 72 bowfronts. But nothing large like a 180 or 265.

It's another jacks that doesn't carry massivore. Or any sinking hikari for that. All and all a good place I will be heading back next week to see if anything has changed and got any tank buster yet. (she's got another doctors app. )

All and all it's right up there with the stores in findlay, easton and bellfountaine. They just need time to ge some stock in.

as for the tanks ... there were telling me today that they can order (but not keep in stock) a 300g tank instead of the 265 that used to be the biggest. 72*36*28 i think they said. its $1500 for standard glass, 1600 for the new "HD glass" ... whatever that is?

and as for massivore -- buy it online !!! WWWWAAAAAYYYY cheaper!!! $20 a bag or so i've found, instead of 35 in stores

Where did you get your gar?

They must be carrying the new perfecto wides. I know that AA has one on display. They are SWEET. But I don't think I would trust one b/c of what I have heard about the big perfectos. But it's sweet they can get them now. I have got almost all of my thanks through them b/c they are closer then AA and everyone has the same price or will price match on tanks. But no one will go under someone elses price.

I would LOVE to get some of JohnPCTs massivore he's got one sale its WAY WAY cheep. But I don't want to do a food purchase till after the years out.


Thanks for the congrats BTW. I was all excited I think i pissed the ultrasound lady off. B/c I was all YES SWEET and jumped out of my chair. And she without looking at me just goes " What would you have done if it wasn't a boy!?" I just looked at her and was like there's allways next time. lol


Did you ever get to RJs?

I might call around and see if that place in galion is open tomorrow if I don't go work on my truck. But I more then likley won't go b/c I really need to get my truck fixed. and I have to work. So unless working on my truck falls through I won't go but there's a chance. But I do got like 13 days of shutdown so I got plenty of time to hitup new places then. And that starts from the 23rd till then 5th I think. So I should have a few new places to talk about then.

i don't blame ya, i woulda done the same thing lol. you can usually get some nice deals at fishy too. but anyway back on topic galion does have a nice store and you oughta visit it, he doesn't carry as many monsters for sale but has a much broader selection (especially if you like cichlids) what he does have is some awesome display monsters including a true giant gourami (much bigger than fishys) and an awesome large lungfish. trust me as far as lfs go it's one that's worth a trip.

if you are ever in upper sandusky there's a guy who sells fish out of his hardware store and he usually has a few baby monsters in and decent selection for the small amount of tanks he has

LOL I was just re-reading this post and I forgot about the place in upper. (hell it's where I grew up) The place is calledKargs supply. It's a small luber yard with some fish setup in the back. There tanks are well taken care for. (some of the clearest water I have seen) selection isn't great at all. but they do carry good quality angels if you're looking for that. It's not an easy place to find b/c it's in a lumber store. but if you go into upper on business route 30 it's right beside pennzoil and across the road from a gym called the rock.

I found another one in the phone book and I think I might give them a call b/c for an address it just says upper sandusky.





For anyone who knows the upper Sandusky area here's a little trivia for you.

About 15 years ago there was a smal shop in some peoples garage. It was in a residentail part of Upper Sandusky. What was the name?

If someone gets this right I might have to send out a prize. lol

good thread koop there is a store in sunbury fins and fangs have not been there yet so don't know. if in columbus again stop by and check out some rays. there was a store in columbus i thought was the best called buyerlys good selection knowlegable staff unfortunatly no longer in bussiness.
