Northern Snakeheads Found in Delaware Pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Asian carp are filter feeders so they destroy the bottom of the food chain.
Atleast the snakeheads taste good, so stop complaining and eat a snake head everyday

your wrong the problem is people releaseing the fish in the wild. And cargo ships not emptying there balasats somewhere else
Snakehead is the least one of our worries, they have a little impact on fisheries. Asian carps on other hand, they completely destoryed fisheries, recreational activities, and ecosystem. Not mention to that Asian carps pose a threat to boaters and skiers. Most exotic species weren't from releasing by the people. To my knowledge, northern snakehead and some goldfish populations were only few species from dumping by the people. Asian carps, tilapia, cichlids and exotic catfish escaped from fish farms. Great Lake exotic species do not come from people dumping, they come from stocking (trouts and salmons), ballast (round gobies/ruffes) and invading (white perch, common carps and sea lampreys) the canals that were opened.

I have a question. Where can I get a snakehead? I am aware that they are illegal in some states and very hard to get a hold of. I've had many different types of fish and want to try something new, so I would love to know where to buy one online. Thank you. And are they still in Becks pond or are they at a low population?
Sorry, keeping snakeheads is illegal in all states. Get a bowfin instead of the snakehead.

Also I would also wanted to add to your statement that there isn't anyone that will sell the live snakehead to someone due to high risks of being caught by F&W officers. It could be an expensive fine to jail time......That's why nobody wants to smuggling the live snakeheads these days.

Snakes are easily obtainable :)

Noone seems to care about millions of feral cats that defaecate everywhere and eat native animals like birds. Or anything that's cute and furry for that matter.
