Not a Mokelembembe!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry to hear this happened....especially with the misidentification and the parasites. Divers Den is WYSIWYG, so keep that in mind when refuting AquaCentral. It sucks, but it seems like you picked up a great fish! It's also great you have a 125 to give it room to grow.

Mokes and weeksiis can look somewhat similar because they both have mustaches , but weeksiis do get substantially larger. As others have mentioned finlet count is a great way to tell the difference. Some visual cues I look for:
weeksii: wide, fat head, kinda thick, stripes are similar to a congigus or a delhezi( stripes typically stop at a halfway point on a lateral line of the body.
moke: camouflage patterns. Either striped pec fins or solid colored. More slender/long. Again, very few finlets.

All of the members on here who have weeksiis seem to really cherish them. I also cherish the weeksiis for them! Perhaps, some of the members can talk about their weeksiis, without convincing me to buy a weeksii. ? Burbotman Burbotman Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683 DMD123 DMD123 Hao Hao

Weeksii are great, basically act like overgrown mokes. Mine only got to about 16” and was a pretty slow grower. I just rehomed mine recently in an attempt to get my stock reduced, missing it.
Anyway you can get it back?

I got this back I wasn't asking for money .... I just wanted a sorry we were wong, sent you a sick fish and a we will make more of a effort to not mis label fish.

Thats a tough call, It was sort of a 'thank you' to a buddy who helps me acquire fish. Unless he decided he was done with it, Im likely not going to have it again. Not that I cant go see it.
Oooh gotcha well at least you can see it ?

Yeah. At this point I'd let it go. Or you could call and explain it to them over the phone.
You know say something like "I didn't and don't want money back. I just want you to know it was mislabeled and now I'm going to have to give it away or find a bigger tank. You guys are the famous Dr fosters and Smith divers den even you shouldn't make silly mistakes like this. I hope I can find a suitable home for this poor misnamed creature that is going to out grow my inadequate tank space."
