Cornish Jack is a mormyrid and so is this. This is either a Mormyrus sp. or Mormyrops sp. but I doubt it is Mormyrops sp.
[edit] It is Mormyrus tapirus. I am 90% sure it is tapirus.

I ended up selling this guy as he started getting very aggressive and we've been going a different route w/ our tanks. But during the few months we had him he was very hardy and ate very well for us ( live blackworms, and occasionally NLS thera A.) I would def get these guys again in the future if I wanted an oddball for a cichlid tank ect. the bigger he got the sassier he got. If you have access to live blackworms or a similar food I would call these hearty fish assuming your maintaining a healthy established tank.

Yes I know they are both mormyrids but I have never kept any of them and am not really familiar with the the different species so your guess at that is much better than mine....Amy,thanks for the update.

About 6"+... and np, a lot of people don't update to say eithr the fish died or they gto rid of it ect. regret getting rid of him but we've had to cut our tanks down to less then 1/2 these past few monthes. and another species tank for a 2' just isn't in the cards for us atm.

Do you know their max size and what size tank is good for these (in gallons)? I've been trying to do research to see if one would be ok as a single fish in a 75 gallon but I can barely find any info.

Mormyrus tapirus probably would be fine for a 75 gallon. The max is 17" and I don't think it will reach that size. 14" is more reasonable I believe.
