Same around here man. You cant even kill someone invading your home in NY w/o getting charged for it. Its ludicrous. Its our basi/c instinct to make that threat go away to protect our loved ones, let alone if you walk in on something like that guy had. If not execution, life in solitary confinement in the basement of the jail should be the norm for pedophiles. I cant stand that people defend these freaks saying its a "mental illness" like no its not. If you cant call other orientations a mental illness then pedophilia is not either.

I hate to play the devil's advocate on this topic but you guys can't expect to kill someone even for the crime he committed and get away with it

I have kids and I think I'd probably beat the guy to death too but you can't take law into your own hands like that

This guy, lucky for him, took the right actions after the beatdown and got away with it whether he intentionally covered his tracks or by chance. But I think that if you kill a guy for that crime like this, you could possibly make your family's life worse by going to jail and becoming a convicted felon

I hate these kinds of laws. I think if you should have the right to use deadly force if someone invades your home.

I remember hearing about a robber who slipped on the store's floor or something like that trying to get away and successfully sued the joint

Then it's a good thing the great state of Texas doesn't see it that way and you should be well within your rights to blow a mans head off of his shoulders if he invades your home...In this seemingly pro criminal town your opportunity is gone once the perp turns and tries to flee your home.

I think even in texas they guy in your article would've got charged had he not took those key actions immediately after he kicked his ass

calling 911 and trying to get the guy medical help, even offering to drive the guy to a hospital when the cop took too long to arrive. those things is what saved him and not his rights as a father to kill a guy he caught molesting his kid

and yea, it's hard to say how one would or should react if someone invades your home in the heat of the moment. but unfortunately for the tenant you have to be careful how you do it if you're gonna kill the invader or else you could be the one getting screwed for protecting your home

^ yeah, i was trying to hint to the fact he acted in an appropriate fashion in my earlier post. If he had taken a yeah! I GOT ONE! IM AN AMERICAN HERO APPROACH. He'd likely be in some legal trouble.

I find it interesting that he cared after such a terrible horrific crime was commited

Oh well, everyone just wants to talk about hell yeah string him up! Boring

I would have done it differently. hold the guy still and let the little girl claw his eyes out.

This is only because you have no clue

he either really cared for the guy's well being after seeing his lifeless body or he couldn't care less if the guy was dead but knew he may be in some serious trouble and made some smart judgment calls under pressure

either way, I am glad this story turned out the way it did. it's sad enough what this will do to the family and the girl but it could've gotten worse if he had been charged with murder

All good points to be sure, the authorities explained how the law worked during the press conference so it seemed like the 911 tape was just icing on the cake. It just doesn't seem right that you can't defend your home against intruders. In some cases here, the criminals seem to be aware of that which is why they come back multiple times.

"............ Flores, 47, was killed inside a remote shack after he was caught molesting the young girl......."

a guy doesn't suddenly become a child rapist at the age of 47, with no prior history. Guaranteed, there's a long list of previous victims.
good thing he is dead.
