My thread was one of those deleted in server transfer, so i will repost it for your comments.

I just got my second piranha listed as a white piranha, how specific of them! I know it was shipped from columbia but collection point unknown, he has a rhom look to him with the red eyes and shape. My first died of a tapeworm so treating this one with prazipro. Hes a little thin but a real finger chaser, well was in the store no hes just subdued but im sure it will be back.

It was an impulse buy, sort of, so some fish who refused to be cleared out before his arrival will be cleared out gradually by him. He attacked right out of the bag even trying to bite through the bag to get at them. This morning theres a few shanked tails and a tetra or two missing. He is very glittery didnt notice it in the shop.

Theres no point to pics yet as id will be hard probably and i want him confident before scaring him with the camera.

He sounds cool! You know you'll have a monster if he was trying to get everything in the tank while still in the bag. Good luck with him!!

hes hiding this morning but its the first time the lights were on gradually increasing them as its a plant tank, has shady areas though with rapid water sprite growth.

Any people with young rhoms please post pics, I hope to have a pic of my new boy by the weekend

What with the previous one going belly up, im worried about everything. Last night he was swimming around attacking but now hes at the back hovering at the bottom doing nothing. He changes spot thats it. Should i be worried? Or is this normal piranha adjustment behaviour. the tank is well planted and running great. The lights are off except for one small blue moonlight i was expecting the same behaviour as last night. BTW his breathing etc looks fine

Spoke too soon just looked at the tank, he just ripped a huge chunk off my catfish, again i saw feeding the remaining fish wasnt by choice but as im so busy these days i dont have the time to strip the tank to hunt down a dumb catfish and a few tetras.

what size is the rhom and your tank? you are probably just over reacting. as long as water parameters are good, temperature is good and water is will oxygenated. it should do fine, just getting use to the tank and you. how long you had it anyway?

Hes maybe 4-5 inches, his red eyes are starting, but he was more sparkly than the others so im hoping a diamond but hes so mean i dont care. Had him around 24hrs. Probably overreacting but i dont want to lose him like the last one.

The tank is 90 gal alot bigger than the ten he was in at the store. Plus it very planted, as i type hes hunting tetras like a demon, Id just like to know how long it will take before he patrols in the light. The filtration is overrated for the tank and it has a powerhead and spray bar giving flow and o2 temp is 80-82

nice you lucky guy im lookin for my finger chaser get some pics up asap are you sure hes white because the substrate changes the color of the rhom bc wen i bought mine she was jet black and with my white sand she is white bc there scales are reflectors

luckydemonz = hes shiny and silver with yellow on black sand!

Secondly if you saw any of my threads i seem to be able to get fish off live instantly whatever the fish, or how hard its supposed to be:naughty:. He just ate a piece of krill meant for the catfish, not just tasting fully eating. this guy has been fed feeders since he left the wild ive had him 24hrs and hes eating frozen with no effort!:headbang2
