is that from your cell phone camera? if so, should use a proper camera so it can focus better. when you taking fish picture make sure the room is dark and the tank is well lite. if you'll be using flash, then take picture at an angle to prevent reflection from the glass.
very hard to tell, probably a rhom with red eyes. but looks to be on the skinny side, maybe just me. the tank looks very nice with all the plants. well done.

Thats actually my normal camera, it aint great but have no money for the one want at the moment. Those as i said were taken thru many layers of plastic, and yes hes skinny my first post said so but it was his personality got my attention. Im treating his food with prazipro in case he has worms etc, but hes eatin well. Killed my sae (previous inhabitants, again explained previously) I euthanised it after he took its tail, put in the tank to see if hed eat it straight out and destroyed it. Hes been eating krill and silversides every nite so far.

hey man a pic is a pic. Welcome aboard...

if it is a rhombeus im happy thats what i want, the last 'white' turned out to be a compressus. If i can have a rhom with this attitude hes going to be fun!!

now he supposedly came in on a wild caught columbia shipment does this narrow down what varient he could be, I assume not as i have no idea of collection point

Ok seen more of him venturing out today.

Red eye
Uniform scutes
Diamond scales
Not so clear band on caudal
Clear fins with black base on anal
Anal behind dorsal

What does this suggest?

P.S got a vid from across the room but doesnt give too much detail may post it if you want

red eyes generally indicates S. rhombeus in serrasalmus species. Even with a pic it's hard to ID serras. It's basically impossible from a text description.

Well update: Hes made it longer than the last and hes feeding ravenously. Im mainly giving catfish fillets as he seems to like it, hes out eating within a min of it going in the tank. Hes not so sure of market shrimp he bluff charges it, ie goes to eat, snaps at it then turns away at the last second as though it scared him. Does the same thing to pellet. Hes getting fatter which is great as the last one ate but wasted away from a tapeworm. I think hes well, doing 30%wcX2 a week.

Hes still terrified of me sat for a hr by the tank last night, not one sign of him but go 5m away hes out. So thus no pics of him yet.
