Although I've been keeping cichlids since the 1950s, I've never bothered to keep Andinoacara's.
I hope to catch some Andinoacara coeroleopunctatus one day soon to rectify that lapse.
I'm also in the anti fake cichlid camp, hybrids and mutants like BPs are not real cichlids to me.

I'll never own a hybrid of any kind. Especially blood parrots. They look like deformed goldfis lol.
Edit: Blood parrots are uglier than any goldfish IMO.

I agree with duanes, I don't count any of them as real cichlids. Especially those bloody awful parrots.

I am not interested in anything intentionally hybridized, most vieja, and most africans. Of course there are exceptions argentea, breidohri, compressiceps, calvus, frontosa, and shellies. Since I lost the dovii I have cooled off a great deal on parachromis, and am becoming much more into the smaller ca and sa cichlids. I love the classics like oscars, jd, and meeki.
