Not liking my tank stands color anymore

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well upon sanding some more, the trim on the doors and sides is a different wood. So staining would definitely not look good with different grains on the trim. Also nothing else furniture wise in my room is wood grain, everything is black or a dark espresso color.

I think I'll start painting it today. I have enough to do about 3/4 of the stand with 2 coats. but of course not enough to do the whole thing. :nilly:

oh and black is the abcense of color

yup white has the presence of all colours, to prove direct a beam of white light through a prism it splits into the colours present i.e. a rainbow

how bout this look. this was my first diy tank. its got the satin black and woodgrain look...
Is that a plywood tank? That looks really nice man.

Slowly but surely happening. Decided on flat black, looks pretty cool. Have sanded most of the front, painted both doors(other is still drying right now.)

Now I just need to get a couple more spraycans, and some sandpaper. Then I'll break down the tank completely and get to sanding and painting. Hopefully from start of the rest of sanding to dried paint won't take more than a few hours because I don't wanna have to setup a temp. tank for my turtle.

Painted the inside flooring black too. I think it adds to the stand.

Oh and I just need to get new knobs for the doors.
