Nice! If you want to do this breeding thing, you might want to invest in some actual breeding caves. I had both breeding caves and PVC tubes in my BN breeding tank and the males universally used the caves. Nobody liked the tubes, and I eventually ended up getting rid of them. The caves give the males the opportunity to turn around without having to leave the eggs. And, of course, the caves have only one entrance so the eggs are more secure.

The caves I use I got from these folks: http://www.cichlidbreeding.com/products.php?cat=8

I have the round ones like in the top picture.

i know that cave is ghetto but i didnt have a cap for the end so i rammed a rock into it to kinda cork it and keep it submerged

how did u get yours to breed?

Add caves and add water. They're really super easy to breed. I keep mine in colonies and they're pretty much non-stop baby factories. If you want to keep the babies make sure there's not anyone in the tank who would find them tasty snacks.

Are you having trouble getting yours to breed? Are they old enough?

i didnt do anything special really. i added 2 males and 2 females and lowered the temp on the heater a little bit to like 80- 82F. i havent done a water change in like 2 weeks just noticed last night they were both in the cave and there was eggs.
