not sure about electric blue jack dempsey

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah i could really only seeing it work if the ejbd was way bigger than the female and IF she accepted him as mate, though if she dont accept him then he still more than likely will get stressed out to death, but its really hard to find a grown ebjd and a baby would def die from the female picking on him

if you get rid of rd and con you still cant get anything but maybe some dithers or some bottom dwelling non-cichlid as two grown demspeys especially a breeding pair are already pushing it for a 50g

dude seriously?!?! a red terror gets way bigger and meaner then all of those fish, if it were by itself the 50g would still be too small long term, just get rid of the rd and a con and let your tank be why are you so unhappy with it?

if you want a crazy full tank then get african cichlids or a bunch of tetras or something, thats the thing with keeping SA/CA cichlids, especially in smaller tanks is that you cant have that many in there and you have to keep in mind the tank may look empty now when the fish are only a few inches but when they are both pushing 10in it wont look so empty

would a RT work ok in here
If you mean Red Terror the answer is NO! If it's too small your JDs will kill it when they spawn. If it is larger it will most likely beat on your pair. Plus, red terrors get too big for a 55. You should keep the JDs with dithers or just get a lone EBJD and dithers. You have two threads of good advice for your tank. I think you should be able to figure out an appropriate stock for your tank without risking the lives of any fish. Good luck.
