i have been trying to pick a few up but there are none local to me and my lfs cant get any in.

wildwoods have them right now its just you dont want to pay the money

Yeah i have also heard this from my supplier. Thankfully i have two 8 inchers right now. But i could use another two......

Just remember though the Mekong has two banks, one in Thailand and one in Laos.

So the NTT is found in more than one country.They would just be collected from whichever country hasn't banned them.....if this is true at all.

The NTT is found in the Mekong in the North East of Thailand. The opposite bank in that area is Laos. I can't find any info on this topic, but the only ban would be the export of them from Thailand. not the import of them into other countries. Enforcing such laws in Thailand is impossible.
