They're the easiest ones to tell (besides, maybe, NGT). They are the silver ones (silver dat, not to be confused with Silver Tiger, ST) with the 2 dots instead of a bar at the rear of the caudal peduncle. I'm not sure what ones they are at F-P. I think they are AT's since they were in a brackish tank, but mine has been fine in a FW tank, you will just have to acclimate it a lot longer since it came from a brackish tank. There's one other brackish sp., but I can't remember off the top of my head. I didn't really look at them well. I think they were about 2, maybe 3 inches. The brackish tank is the one that faces the desk.

edit: NGT are the other "brackish" ones. they are VERY easy to tell apart from the silver dat (a.k.a. american tiger or AT)

ST = Siamese Tiger (not Silver Tiger) :grinno: aka widebar
AT = American Tiger (silver dat) - brackish one
IT = Indonesian Tiger
NTT = Northern Thai Tiger
NGT = New Guinean Tiger
AT&T = telephone company :ROFL:

BTW, nice NTT. Once he settle in, you'll love his color

yeah, oops. dont' know why i said silver tiger....guess it's cuz i'm new to dats :D.

i find this whole AT&T/Cingular renaming to be ridiculous. wth is up with that? guess it's kinda like ford going from taurus to 500 back to taurus.

thanks. its colors are already a lot nicer than the AT, of course, lol

i'm happy to report that the dats are getting along together well so far and even swim together most of the time. i haven't seen the NTT eat yet, but I have only tried filets and pellets so far and it may be settling in still. they said they were feeding it krill at the fish store.

They were maybe 1.5" to 2" about an inch tall. The good thing was is they already ate frozen food so I didn't have to try to train them. They called them gold tigers but they were IT's. They actually had them in the Brackish section. I got mine a little over a month ago so they may still have some and they may be bigger.

Was it Fish Palace you stopped at. I saw a thing on Craigslist that they were selling that place.
Todd's was out of the IT's, but Fish Palace has some (that's what they all were). They had one that was about 3.5" and two that were 1.5-2". I got one of the smaller ones since it had the best-looking pattern to me. The were also labeled as "gold tigers" and in the brackish tanks. I have it in its own tank w/ a SG of what they told me it was in, so I'll have to slowly decrease it until there is none or very little salt.

That's great!!!:naughty: I wonder why both places keep them in brackish tanks...Did you by any chance ask? I didn't know Todd's was out but I did call Fish Palace cause I thought if they had silvers or something different I would get one. No such luck though.:irked: Post some pics.

I'm not sure why. There are some dats from brackish waters, but I didn't think IT's were. I will try to get some pix tomorrow.
