  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So there are even bigger ones then?! Jeez and I thought he was massive for a parrot lol. It sucked when he passed away but he sure did taste good in the end lol. They have a very weird ribcage tho, really reminded me of the shape of a recurve bow.
Seriously hope your joking

I have a list of things that needs to happen before I ever consider eating a fish. 1 it has to be over 8 inches in length. 2 it must die of natural causes. And 3 I must witness it die with my own eyes before I even trust that it's safe to do so. Only ever had 2 fish that fit all 3 out of my 13 years of fish keeping. One of them being parthonax and the other being the giant gourami that I never named.

Not judging you, but I could never eat a pet. Unless it's a natural disaster or something major and it would be my only source of sustenance.
I'd eat my Pitbull if I had to.

You ate a giant parrotfish!? Interesting. Not something I’d do but tell us more. Taste, texture, comparisons?

Aww pretty pit. Yeah I understand people's thoughts on pets and wouldn't do the same to my cat, had him for 14 years now and he's already 16. As for fish tho I do tend to view them differently then a fur baby, possibly because I was raised up catching a cooking them, but being raised up around farms ya tend to be told "waste not want not" so I guess it always stuck with me even into fish keeping. Only fish that I ever viewed the same way as a fur baby was my FH (Jr.). He so far is the only fish I have plans on getting mounted on the wall to be remembered forever.

Honestly not much different from a wild caught bluegill imo. Only difference I found was the weirdly shaped ribcage. Honestly better tasting them most of your store bought varieties are.

Fish raised in warm water taste like sheet. If you have never eaten a trout or salmon from cold water it's hard to describe. Times must be tough to feel the need to eat an aquarium raised pet fish. meh

I would have to agree trout is the best imo, especially wild caught. And as for the aquarium fish part, well it's not like I raise them just to be eaten in the end. If I wanted to do that I'd just have tanks of bluegill and nothing more. And if I wanted to eat aquarium fish daily I'd move to Florida and catch them myself, you can find almost anything fish wise in Florida.

...This is wrong man I’m sorry but none of your reasonings justify this for me. I’m a fisherman too I don’t waste good meat but that doesn’t apply to my pets. I personally value some of them like my dog. And besides the fact that sounds disgusting considering many variables.
