Steve Sadly this happens almost daily. I know people that have lost their pensions, shields, and even there freedoms for doing things that what we would normally consider within their job description.

There needs to be some changes from the top down then if that is the case.
Hell if I was on the street and saw people doing that to cops, they wouldn't have to worry about arresting the person because I would take the person down myself and they would have to arrest both of us.

I heard Lynch (head of the union) is losing it over this. Hes been at war with deblasio for some time now.

In a different time i would have agreed with steve 100% shoot in the past i would routinely make the same judgment but now a days... its just bad.
Hannity is about to do a segment on the incident.Guiliani will be a guest in the studio.

but I truely have a hard time believing they would tell them not to arrest someone that assaults them because that is gonna just give the green light for more and worse to happen across the country.
Hello; The last year I taught, 2004, I was filling in for the Biology teacher who had to retire just a few days into the school year. The AP Biology class was great but the other classes had about 10 to 20 % ner-do-well slacker types. One class around second period had four boys who were especially onerous. Having my pension already secure and knowing I was a one year replacement I did what none of the other teachers could do. I threw them out of the class.
This turned into a sort of a game. On mornings when they were awake and alert they would act out so I would toss them. It sometimes took 15 to 20 minutes out of the class. To them they had an adult to play with and hardly any consequence to face.
Having a bit of an onery streak myself I would carefully but in clear terms dis them in front of their peers. One morning one of them finally caught on to the fact I was helping him to make a fool of himself. As he left the room he threw a sharp pencil hard enough so it briefly stuck in my chest.
I called the school resource officer and started to press charges. The school administrators came to his defense. They pleaded with me to not press charges. I made a deal that got him out of my class for good. I had experience with what happens when a teacher presses charges from a school bus incident in the past so being rid of him was likely the best I could hope for.

And yes it does give a green light for worse to come.

Oh i agree man, that city is still feeling the repercussions of the eric garner fiasco. If i had to put my finger on it i would say that incident was the point of no return.

Similar orders were given in other cities that were faced with more serious situations.
The entire department ought to walk out if they arent going to be backed by the city.
Why should they go out and risk their lives for a city that will not stand behind them?

That's jacked up. Might as well carry squirt guns
