Mine are very pretty...the pics don't do them justice.
This pic of your female looks closer to mine then your other pics. Actually mine were sold as super colored OB's...Does that make a difference?
Oh I don't know. Super colored is probably just a nice way to say i'm taking more of your money or at least a way to get you to buy the fish. Their looks do change as they get older. I am going to keep a male and grow him out to see what he turns out like. May consider doing a peacock show tank since I have a tank of assorted males already that I have no clue what they are.
Jhutch, your fish look good. I like a OB peacock myself. Im not as militant about hybrids. I dont go out of my way to produce them and sell them in the community though. Its more of a personal interest.
My fish from my breeding expriment are looking pretty good. It was a red OB female and male stuartgranti. I kept 4 of them and are growing them out to see what they look like color wise when mature. Mine are not aggressive so far and are getting big, bigger than i thought they would. THey seem to have a very fat rounded body. Here are some pics of mine.
Im hoping the males will develop some of the stuartgranti royal purple/blue when mature. These juvies are 1-1.5 inches now, getting closer to 2 inches.
