yeah i let him out of the container of course haha, just took some pics of him inside cause i figured it would be easier to get shots of him that way. I know that they are really only cool when they eat, i just figured id give one a shot. and I already knwo about tonmo its a great site.

Only cool when they eat? man are you in for a surprise, I've had them shoot water at me to get my attention, they love to interact. Mine would build homes out of small rocks and go nuts when I moved a rock. giving them a new rack was like giving a child a new toy! Mine especially liked rock or objects with unusual properties. Super smooth ceramic guide pins were one of their favs. metal bolts (titanium) were also well liked. very smooth but heavy things seemed to fascinate them. a floating ping pong ball would give them hours of play. they are great animals, mine was Octopus vulgarius, it's is so sad when they die.

Good luck with the little guy. One of the coolest inverts!

It's a bimac. If you have a female, I have read that it is possible to raise the eggs of this species, apparently they do not pass through a multiple month planktonic stage like the dwarf octos do.
Good Luck!

hes a great looking octopus! i didnt realize they have such short life spans, though i know they get bored easily so you have to keep him stimulated..

great find! best of luck to you and him..
