  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
tlindsey tlindsey even If I spread the food around? or over feed so the bush fish get full then vacuum the rest up after the knife eats?

You could try that but maybe jeopardizing your water quality if uneaten food isn't removed.

i’ve got 2 of these Ctenopoma - and an afer in with my polys...

butterfly fish / jewel cichlids did not work...

i’m not sure what’s going on at night, my ornate took a swipe at the butterfly... the Ctenopoma only enemy are each other... had 3 - they took out one...

GL!

lol that won't work the Ctenopoma would suck up the food with a blink of a eye.

the knife is faster than the bichir as far as eating goes... it’s a night time fish mainly... mine comes out to swipe food... my bichir are pretty darn slow to eat....

i can not speak to the brown knife as i’ve only had the afer which i understand is more aggressive.

i’d listen to the others if they are concerned about it being out competed for food...

i’ve only had this african bio tope running for 3 months or so now in a 5’x18”x24” -

i’ve only had the previous mentioned problems,

the Ctenopoma may be a good idea -

how big do the afers get?

I had ctenopoma butterfly fish and polys together in my 180 and I grew the polys and cteno in a 75. Ctenopoma will fight with each other and so will butterfly fish.
