oddball feeders

Mosquito fish would be my guess - my LFS sells them and occasionally get mixed up with feeders.

Looks like a fathead minnow to me. I see them on occasion in my petco feeder tanks as well. Or some type of florida native minnow would be my bet. They are used to help keep the feeder ponds clean i think, or accidentially get introduced dureing the "rainy" season down there.

Everyone please keep in mind that the photo at the beginning of the thread is not the OP's and is not of the fish he found, it is just one he thinks looks similar.

Jerzyperson- if you happen to find another, please get some photos! I'd say fathead is still likely; they are one of the few minnows that does well in ponds and I suspect that many places that raise goldfish in bulk also raise fatheads and/or rosies, so contamination is likely. There are several other possibilities, though.

i went back there today because i purchased basically a dead fish, and they had another one so snagged him up. i don't have a camera right now, my parents have it. but i will try and get some pics in a bit

Kinda looks like some kind of creek minnow, like a dace maybe?
