You ought to know man, yours is the best! Mine has some really great dorsal and anal fins though. They really are big and long. I wish I could capture a picture that showed them better.

You ought to know man, yours is the best! Mine has some really great dorsal and anal fins though. They really are big and long. I wish I could capture a picture that showed them better.

I would rather not have a large nuchal hump on my odo, believe it or not. There are quite a few beast haitiensis out there that are more impressive than mine as well. Ron Georgion's and cichlidscene's have/had a couple legendary beasts that put it to shame. I just hope he gets to that type of size and status in a few years. Same for yours

Thanks. I'm glad someone finally said something about the midas. He (I think) has grown about an inch a month. It is a glass banger at 6". I have not updated my signature.

You don't see much of Ron's on the internet though, and usually someone took the picture at a show. I saw Ron's fish last year in Atlanta and it could eat mine, at least then it could. That fish of Ron's is really old too. The one cichlidscene had went to Rapps and actually looks more like my fish. Mine does not have the definative patterns on the scales as much as some other fish have had. Polomax24 had a nice one and RuckFules has a great one now too. I believe DuaneS has a really nice pair. There are many out there, but yours just looks uniquely nice for one we see updates of more often.

I think the black dots in the middle of the scales is something that starts showing up as the fish gets older/larger. Definitely seeing more of that in my fish in the last few months.
