you guys gotta chill. i already read another thread with u battling. why not settle this the good old college way. a game of beer pong. otherwise lets keep this to an odoe thread.

mines doing well. how often do u guys recommend i feed him, hes about 2" right now.

I'm here to help. I think I've contributed some decent info over the years in regards to some of these fish. I'm tired of being lured into offering up advice and then having to avoid confrontation cause someone has no respect for other's opinion.... Now "My shoal's going to get a visit from an Armatus in 3 months" Sounds like I'm way outta line huh? :screwy: If you're just going to argue why even bother asking?

There's a reason this crap keeps happening. I have no problem with 95% of MFK.... It's the 5% combination of people not respecting others, fishing for an argument, talking shiat behind a keyboard, or just wasting time cause they are too lazy to search.

Anyways...... Your Odoe..... If you're trying to grow it out fast just keep feeders in there all the time. I'm dumping between 30 and 40 rosies a DAY into a growout for 6 Odoe and a few other Characins. I'd keep feeders in there till 4 inches or so, once it gets bulked up then try to break it. May have to starve for a while to break onto dead food..... Not really sure. These will be my first venture into breaking Odoe.

You keep talking tough to DB Junkie. His collection OWNS yours anyday. I think his single speciments in his collection is better than whatever shoal you have. You have been posting how to mix odoes with this and that on every different section to see what your odoes can mix with but don't take advice :screwy:
nothing's better than a armatus , ATF, Blue diamond rhom. if it is just let me no, db junkie must have sharks, or a squid huh. :banher:

enough with all the crying, like babies,, DB everybody got your back your cool, just relax, all night you guys have been talking s*** and i have been sleep damn:chillpill: take that pill and split it with your faithful;)

ugh im always kinda scared of feeding feeders because of the disease issue. i dont know if i can find feeders small enough also. right now im going 2 times a day, once with bloodworms and once with mysis shrimp. i figure that should be a good combo for growth.

No sharks.... Lots of eels- A 3' Dragon, 4' Zebra, 3.5' Yellowmouth, amongst many others.....

And a few freshwater tanks. Only thing better than an Armatus is more Armatus.... Like 5. But "dithers" will probobly be needed, which is why the Armatus are being raised with 1/2 dozen Odoe, but since the Odoe don't move enough to occupy the Armatus's attention a shoal of 7 non stop moving Dorado will more then likely end up in the 10x4 I plan on dusting off and housing them in till I can build a decent sized tank. These fish are all in house now... No "Someday I'll get...."

Not even gonna mention the Marble collection.

Is your curiousity satisfied Caribe?

I've had a lot of Characins over the years..... I don't make stuff up, I speak from the experiences I've had raising a lot of these fish. I offer up what I know to anyone that asks...... Or at least try to help in any way I can till that bridge gets burnt.

I learned from others and in turn feel obligated to do the same.

I am not sure the effect of shrimp and bloodworms on fish, but I know with rays they offer little nutritional value.

IF your fish are healthy you shouldn't have any issues with feeders. Just qt them if it bothers you. Medicated flakes if you feel like going the extra mile but if you just set up a tank and get feeders, keep them in there and treat the tank like it has ich (salt and elevated temp) and gutload them all week, after a week you should have pretty clean feeders, most of the weak/sick will die off. Then just replace them every week. You're going to get some pretty good nutrition out of live fish, and this is more then likely what these fish are eating in the wild..... I think it's important when the fish is small and growing rapidly.

if you can get a small tank and breed mollies, nothing like heathy feeders, also mine used to love silversides, and hated market shrimp, weird i thought

healthy feeders are great. i wish i could feed them small tetras all day long but its pricy. i have silver sides but ive had a tough time getting any of my fish to eat them. i think the only one i had any luck with was my blue lobster.

Any luck with tossing krill into the filter outputs?

Check out the breaking guide in the Payara captive care guide..... That might have some usefull info.

I would highly recommend feeders though until they get a decent size..... When they are stil growing, developing bones and whatnot it's very important to feed them the stuff they are gonna need to grow properly.... A simple food like worms or krill may not provide all that stuff....
