Sounds like your lfs is a magnet for xtra large odoes. Make sure u have every opening covered, they like to jump to their deaths.

Hello, I currently own a 5" Odoe. Just got him 2 days ago. And, he wont eat. I saw him eat at the fish store just fine. I have some small zebra danios and a small goldfish in there with him as an enticement. The tank is cycled and the water quality is pretty good. The temperature is at 80 F. I thought by the second day he'd be ready to give in to his stomach. Could someone please help with a suggestion or two?

Theres not enough love for Odoe Pikes!
I recently just picked one up too, its around 6-7inch was eating MP but I decided to give it morio worms instead :P

pretty skittish and scared tho!

I just bought a 5 inch odeo pike! He's really cool! He was eating in the fish store, he's still new and hasn't eaten yet. But he's really cool. He's in my 125. I figure that will probably be big enough for life because I've heard they only get about 10 to 12 inches in a tank.

IMG-20120601-00007.jpgHey, I've had my 8inch odoe for a couple of months, it lives in my 180 in a cichlid community with small and large cichlids from 2 to 11 inches inc a large barred midas, rd , and butti. The cichlids tried to beat on him at first but after he racked some scales with them teeth they leave him alone, he's not nervous at all and leaves my smaller fish alone! He's eating silver sides and krill... Great fish, I've heard 14inch is average in a tank.IMG-20120601-00009.jpg

can an odoe live in a 75 gallon for life??? If not, what size do I need to relocate it??

odoes are pretty skittish fish... i got mine at 7inches for FREE lol. but mine went straight for fd krill. iono why, but i cant be around the tank during feeding time, i think he still isnt use to me, but yeah. no one really knows how big theyll get in a home aquarium, so a 55 should be alright until you notice a bigger tank is needed ;) good luck. and here are some pics of my odoe :D

what part of canada are you cuz ii live in ontario and I'm looking for a odoe.
