Odyssea CFS 14i/ CFS 1200

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I should of stated I read about the o-ring swap, thanks for the advice. I was worried about the hw-603 sunsun prefilter being able to handle the flow, that's why I was thinking of getting a smaller odyssea filter like a 700, removing the pump, using that for the prefilter and using the 14i semi filled with crushed lava rock. I'm a click away from ordering the 14i now lol.

I think your idea of the 700 into the 14i is a pretty cool idea.

just ordered the 14i. debating on the prefilter. the 700 is 100$ on ebay shipped and the 14i is 160, I may just get another 14i as a prefilter and have a spare pump on hand? makes sense. I really wanted two 14i's and two 700's just no funds for that at the moment. looks like i'll eventually run 4 14i's and use two as prefilters w/o the pumps. currently have a 240gl 8x2x2 for sale and want to get a 8x3 or 8x4 foot print with some BD stingrays

I forgot I wanted to check into the pump amps/current draw first..oops.. hope it's not much more than the sunsun of 55 watts

The 14i would be too much as a pre filter. All that resistance from all the mech media is going to reallly affect the flow rate. Plus, maintenance on the 35" long body is going to be a bit of a PITA. I would stay with the 700.

Any reason you're not ordering the 700 from Aquatrader? It's $90 includes shipping

The 700 is listed at 48W according to the label on the box

its 100.94 with shipping. the resistance would only depend on how many filter pads I add? not saying I'm going to fully load it?

Got this today. Really is huge, going to remove everything inside though. I want to make some baskets for crushed lava rock. the start to my filtration. May get the cfs700 and use that as my prefilter. I think I may go with a total of two 14i's and two cfs700's.
