thanks for the help guys...i was walkin on the dock today, and look down and there was like a 3 foot tiger muskie right under, in super shallow water, it was really cool.

If he dosent put anything into the water, which I dont see why he would considering all hes doing is moving lake fish into the same type of water just a few yards away.

He cannot help but to put stuff in the water. Of course he is going to want to aquascape this pond correct? And feed his fish right? Im just saying I don't see the point in it anyways...

chad, why did you want ur LMB or Bowfin? its the point of having it and controling the way it lives. id do the same thing. see how big i could grow it and be able to see some topwater feeding action whenever i wanted...(thats why i put a bagillion bluegill in my pond) and put some cool bottom feeders like a big channel cat or flathead that yo'd never ge to see from a boat or walking the bank.

for the return, i think it would be cool to dig out like a little creek and make it flow pretty good, so it look like you have a spring in ur yard feeding the lake.

OK I now fully understand why the generations after me have no connection to nature..They are too damn lazy and selfish to enjoy it as it is. They must contain it to be useful to them. In my day we waded creeks, explored forests and found ways to experience new thing outdoors. I see that now all we have is :

How sad...

That said I now get your "the few" part of Native fishkeepers Dude..We really are not like you if this is how you think and among us you are definitely one of the few..I'm not so sure I would be proud though..

Have a small pump going from the lake and into the pond, than a drain that drains the pond back to the lake :). Add plants from the pond, lots of fish and pics!

I know there are people on here that do this and I havent said anything before, but this is a bad idea. Pumping water from the lake is not such a big deal, but discharging back into it is super illegal without a permit, (Clean Water Act, 1972, 1987). Check with the proper authorities and get a permit first..... by the way "proper authorities" is not your buddy who is a park ranger, i would start with the MPCA, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency

for the love of all that is holy...i am not even going to answer what you just said, that is one of the most hypocritcal things i have ever heard, if u are such a good "fish keeper" and love nature so much, you would not even have any fish...also who ever said i was going to pump the water back? i probly wont, cuase i dont have the money for a big pump like that, they can be really expensive.
