Well again my point is, The chance to sign a heathy, young, decent quarterback such as Matt Cassell does not happen very often.

As said before, this arguement could go on forever. I do however feel that you are not even reading my posts, i.e. below.



Heard of Harrington? I posted about him within the last few posts. At what point did I promote drafting a franchise QB? I only pointed out that they may go after Harrell with the first pick and that it would be alot of money to pay for an unproven QB.

Well the Lions went 0-16 today, and they deserved every loss.

The whole Cassell thing: yeah, it doesn't happen often but guess what, it has already happened to the Lions. They picked up a hot-shot qb who came in for a starter that got hurt, his name was Scott Mitchell.
This is common with people who are not close to the team, you have to realize how long this has been going on. I'll say it again. 50 years, thats enough time to draft QB's sign the hot free agents (Mitchell) and much much more. The one thing they haven't done is built it right, and you do that by getting an offensive line, and getting a defense. They have tried to do it every other way. I just hope this time they do not try and take the easy way out with a qb in the draft or a free agent like Cassell.

Regarding Scott Mitchell, far from a Matt Cassell. Mitchell started only 7 games fore the Fins the year before going to Detriot. Not to mention he also was recovering from a knee injury. Didn't do too bad though in the 4 years as starting QB the Lions made the playoffs 3 times and he was also a Probowler one year.

Didn't do too bad though in the 4 years as starting QB the Lions made the playoffs 3 times and he was also a Probowler one year.

I just wanted to say Go Eagles! What a great game to watch. Wish the Cowboys would have made it more of a contest, but I got the result I wanted and I'm glad some of the starters got to rest... they'll need to be ready for Minnesota.
