bellichik seen the way welker played. Tried to acquire him and found out he could. dolphins knew he was pretty good, especially since bill was asking about him. Im sure the fins thought they burned the pats in this trade at first. Why else trade to a team in your div? Fins owner is nutty anyway but thats besides the point

Which? the owner now or the owner when the trade was made? Yes bellichik is a scarey judge of talent, but for someone to say that the Fins didn't think Welker was any good is just moronic.

but the pats DID give up a 2 and it was a great deal!THEY new that!they new he was better. How come they knew more about a dolphin than the dolphins?

Big difference between knowing and thinking. They didn't know they thought. When ya get sober research the difference. It worked with Welker, but no so good with Haynesworth, right?

Besides do you really think it's all Welker? How would we view Welker right now if he had the Dolphins QB carousel throwing the ball to him for the last 5 years?

Are you kidding? They were 11-5 the season before with Rogers showing he was a competent NFL starter. They were expected to compete with the Vikings for a divisional Championship.

I know what your point is and it is invalid. To consider a team as not a real team because of who they lost to is just silly. I mean really how real are the teams that lost to the ravens? If the ravens arent a "real" team?

You know that I'm just messing with you at this point, right? I'd have to have lost a decent chunk of my brain to think that the Packers haven't been a powerhouse in recent seasons. :p

I still think it's a weird trend with the Ravens, though...

Heres another rant of mine - there are no "bad" NFL teams.

Every single man that earns a roster spot in the NFL was a god among men in college. He is one of the biggest, strongest, fastest, most talented people his university has ever seen.

The second you dont match the physical norm of all the other players in the NFL - you are gone, your career is over. They can draft someone who matches that mold in any round.

Actually look at - and average up combine stats. Most of these guys are within 5% difference of each other. I did one once with QB's and there was less than 4% difference (physically) between the #1 and the #last Qb at the combine.

These rosters - physically - are identically the same. All these men are talented like I said before. Watch them in college - no one could touch them. Thats why they are in the NFL.

The difference really comes down to your organization, your coaching, and the players individual drives and attitudes. Literally any team can win any given sunday and I truly believe that.

The proof is in the pudding - packers have a classy organization - have a long tradition of winning. Then there are places like Cinci - which have struggled on an organizational level - and they are suffering the consequences.

did you have to use green bay as the example? a better example would've been the sixburge steelers. i'm just saying and yes i'm nitpicking. lol, everything else i agree with.

what matters is winning. The pack had injuries last year and dropped games. They were healthy enough at the end,and made the playoffs.People forget, there's not much difference between winning and losing in the NFL.Losing games to inferior teams is a concept that overrides the any given sunday theory. What counts is how good the team was that day.1 more injury is often all it takes to make a champion a loser.

Running is conceptually less risky. That is why the Eagles are running more. With more talent they figure they could run and still win and have a healthy qb.So much for that theory.Once again,we see trends develop based on the latest rule changes, and desires for more scoring. You will see teams go against the trends which they know others are preparing for.the teams with non superstar qbs,for example or teams with superstar running backs.looks like talent evaluators and game planners are hard to come by in a league of copycats.the talent poor fins thought welker wasn't too good.the titans and everyone else overlooked the best RB in the draft(Blount).Who said draft Tom Brady?A lot of the experts thought Tebow couldn't even play, much less w/a college system, and a lot of fools quickly jumped on this ship, but they were wrong again and continue to preach. What else will they be wrong about? The next great qb?heard that one already!

the packers did not get healthy going into the playoff because most of those injuries were season ending. please tell me who got injured other then aaron rodgers with the concussion (he only missed one game anyways) and came back to help them roll in the playoffs? They had 15 players on season ending IR. i don't expect everyone to know everything about sports because in the grand scheme of life it's really irrelevant but if you're going to make a point in a conversation online, please do a lil research before you post

Also....you're taking one player every few years from the draft out of 200 players selected every year and making it seem like the norm. that thought process probably explains why you overrated your very own team this year.

ps, rarely do we see teams in the regular season go against the trend. you do what you're good at over and over again until someone proves they can stop it. you don't suddenly say OH SHIZZLE, WE'VE GOT AARON RODGERS OR TOM BRADY OR DREW BREES OR PEYTON MANNING (or any other of the top 15 QBs in the league) AND SUDDENLY RUN IT BECAUSE OMG, WE'LL CATCH THEM OFF GUARD. hahahahaha, are you fo real right now cuz this seriously has me cracking up. the only time you'll see people game plan away from their strenght is in the playoffs, usually an underdog, not a powerhouse team

The steelers are one of the best organizations in the AFC - which I believe is highly overrated. Steelers, patriots however are good teams - consistantly good teams though. Its all about management. They will continue to be good - as the packers will be as well.

yay, 'Niners clinch the division! So close to the fudge packers losing :duh:

was hoping the Giant killers took 'em down. now i dont see a loss before the playoff, i originally thought chicago had a chance but with cutler and forte out, fuhgettaboutit. the only thing that'll derail their perfect season is injuries

wiggles, i was wrong about the broncos being able to leapfrog all 3 teams in front of them. i'd still take that bet today though if it ever presented it self. it was so unlikely. should make for a good finish over the next 4 weeks.

on the flip side, i remember people saying detriot would have a great season and i said pump your brakes and look at their schedule. that schedule has come back to bite them in the arse. wish we had SF's schedule
