I hear the Redskins are going to win the nfc east!!!!!would not surprise me-Shanny dont play!

Really, did the Cowboys, Eagles and Giants move to another division?

ahhhhhhh I cant wait anymore. Espn hyping the chargers game tom night. And Im falling for it

Steve Smith is officially the most hated player on the Eagles by Giants fans, and he brought it all on himself. If you are friends with him on FB like me, all he talks about (WAY more than any other athlete I'm a fan of) is how much he loves the team he's playing for and how he'll never leave. Last week he even said he's not greedy and it's not all about the money. The Giants can't offer too much because of their cap space. He won't even be able to play for at least the first 6 weeks because more than likely he'll go on the PUP. He went were the money was, which is exactly what he said he wouldn't do. The Eagles gave him about 4 million over 1 year, but because he's injured and the Giants are strapped cap wise, they couldn't offer as much. It's also not like he'll be the number 1 reciever in Philly, he'll be number 4, behind D-Jax, Maclin, and Jason Avant (who plays the same exact role in their offense that smith did in ours, which means smith will have to do something else). He would have been Eli Mannings favorite target and would catch more passes and play much more. Bad decision on his part, and it shows just how greedy NFL players are....what a disgrace. I can't wait to see Corey Webster knock him on his butt when we play him.

Another point..... If he really wants money, he would have been wise to look towards a long term goal. Yes he is making more money now, but how is having him play behind 3 other recievers for one year improve his value to teams. He'll have played 2 straight partial seasons, with him just being a backup for the second one. If he went to New York or really any other place where he could have played more, he would better position himself for a bigger contract next year, and there is no way he's resigning with Philly. He's just gonna be stuck with another 1 year/ 3 million dollar deal. Just ask Braylon Edwards how brutal the free agent market can be for recievers.

On a more personal note about this subject: I chose to be number 12 in football because I related myself as a reciever to him. I play the slot and I am not the fastest, but I have good hands and run good routes. Now I'm seriously considering switchin to 23 for the next season because I really don't want to associate myself with him.

Sorry I'm just really frustrated with him so I had to rant about it. :irked:

Edit: I just realized this: How does Desean Jackson feel about this. I mean Philadelphia won't give him a contract extension, and are probably running out of cap to do so. They just payed their 4th reciever who is only gonna play 9 or 10 games 4 million dollars. He's getting paid 550,000!

he's not getting 550,000 if they fine him for 30k for each practice he missed. haha. yeah....steve smith, it's ALWAYS about the money i don't care what anyone says. Good pick up for the eagles, you can never predict injuries (jackson missed a couple of games for concussions last year for example) so it's good to work in another WR but who knows if this man can even return to form. microfracture surgery ain't no joke, especially on a collision sport.

Desean jackson can feel however he wants, they made it clear to him they would not negotiate with him until he shows up to camp. can't blame them either. they're intentionally making an example out of him so other players don't do the same in upcoming years.

mike, do you think pre season will be different this year since this may be a real practice for some of these teams since they missed 2 a days, 0TAs and less contact during practice? i think we'll see the starters play much longer minutes then in prior years but i guess we'll know soon enough.

I am sure they will play a bit more, but it will still not be much at all. Instead of one series, I think they may play 3-4. Still not much I doubt they will play too much for fear of injuries.

I have no problems with what Steve Smith did. The not enough salary cap space is a complete joke. The giants have plenty of space to match that contract. They just felt that there is no way he will go so lets give him just a little. It back fired, I am really concerned about the Giants now. I really like the Giants, but there shot is going out the windows. They had 4 players to worry about keeping this year from free agency and they lost two of them. The Giants did not want to pay their talent and it back fired. You can love your team, but they only have so many years to make money. I wish he had gone to a better team than the eagles (I hate the eagles).

Yeah to be completely honest I wouldn't be as upset if it wasn't the Eagles. Thats the one team I really wish he wouldn't have gone to. At least its not a major blow. He's potentially never gonna be the same reciever again, and talent wise he was the 3rd best reciever on the Giants. Speaking of losing 2 key pieces, I don't think the Kevin Boss loss is gonna hurt us. Kevin Boss did everything well, but no part of his game was really great. Now we're sending Travis Beckum out there, who is a fantastic reciever, and apparently the Giants organization thinks he can be a good blocking TE with a little more work, so our offense actually became a little more explosive in that sense.

bhahaha! I read the article where Rex Grossman came out and said they were the sleeper team in the NFC this year... Really Rex? If your the sleeper team wouldnt you want to keep quite about it

it's never a good thing when you throw as many interceptions as eli did last year and then he loses 2 of his fav targets. i don't care how much potentional the brand spanking new rookies have.

what did new york offer steve smith? every report i've read has concealed the information. they really didn't offer one year 4 mil? talk about a risk free contract, you can extend his contract mid year if he's able to come back and be anything close to what he was before the injury. Sounds like they wanted to lowball him because he wanted to come back and were using his injury as an excuse to low ball him.

Ravens just added WR Lee Evans from the Bills for a 4th round draft pick, good to see were adding a vetran alongside Boldin to help our young WR group along
